How to make a program stop connecting to the internet without additional software in Windows 7

In this article you'll learn how to block a program from accessing internet without installing any additional software. This is how you do this

From the start menu search for windows firewall
with advance security

There in the left corner of the window you'll see inbound rules button. Click on it and the click on the new rule button on the right side of the window. It will direct you to a new window where you'll see four options on that window
  • Program
  • Port
  • Predefined
  • Custom

Click on program and click next. It will direct you to a new window where you'll be able to set the path where the program is which you want to block access to the internet. Do not click on All Programs but the 2nd option that is This program Path where you can manually choose the path to the program.

Even if you choose a shortcut to the program it will get the path to the program automatically. Now click next.

Now you'll see a new window with three options. Click on the last option Block the connection. Click next. In the next window you'll see all the options are checked. If not select all the three options Domain, Private &Public and then click next.

Now give a name to this rule as u like but keep it remembered if you want to allow access the program to connect to the internet later.

Click finish and then do the same with the outbound rules as well.

If you feel like removing this rule and let the program connect to the internet later simply delete the rule from the list :)
